Training is probably the most important aspect of triathlon, yet can also be the hardest. Here at PTC we recognise that some people prefer to train alone, but that many appreciate the advantages of training together. To try and cater for our members needs we organise a number of 'formal' and 'informal' training sessions. If you would like advice on any aspect of training, do not hesitate to talk to another club member at one of the sessions or contact one of the Committee Members who will be only too pleased to help you. Please note that only the Tuesday run session is officially coached. For other sessions, we will endeavour to provide a structured session for you to follow and qualified members may take the lead and/or offer coaching tips.
Please click on one of the links below for more training information:
The three 'formal' sessions (Monday and Thursday swim, Tuesday run, and Wednesday bike sessions over the summer) can be paid for in one of the following ways:
Option 1 - £2.50 (£1.00
consessions) per session (cash)
Option 2 - £10 (£5 juniors) per month (standing order) - covers these 3 sessions
Some members attend public spinning sessions - these are payable separately at the venue – see the Forum for details of which session(s) members are attending
We expect everyone who trains with the Club to support us by joining as members. Please see our secretary Karen Munn for details of membership and or Treasurer Nicola Mills to obtain a standing order form for training. The membership form is available on the membership pages of the webisite
PTC owns some training equipment
which club members are encouraged to make use of. Equipment currently
available includes turbo trainers, heart-rate monitors and a number
of training books. For more details please contact Ellie Jones.
