Training > Running

The club organises a formal coached run session every week as follows:

Tuesday, 7.15pm - 8.45pm - Multi-storey Car Park, Haverfordwest.

Please be ready to leave the car park for a warm up run at 7.20pm prompt.

A run session also takes place throughout the year at the new all-weather floodlit track at Sir Thomas Picton School every Friday. The track is booked for exclusive club use every Friday from 4.30pm to 7pm - most people are meeting at 5.30pm as this gives them time to get there from work. You must book in at the reception desk before entering the track - if you haven't got one already please register for a free leisure card. This will help demonstrate how much use the track gets. Use of the track is currently free. A structured programme of track sessions will be provided for Club members to follow (usually from November to September) but this is not an officially coached session.

PTC also has strong links with the local running and athletic club, Pembrokeshire Harriers. In the winter some members race for the Harriers in the Gwent Cross-country League for some very useful running experience. To take part in this league it is necessary to join the Harriers and affiliate to the Athletics Association of Wales. For more details please see their web site (www.pembrokeshireharriers.org.uk) or contact Martin Dyde on 01646 684059.

Members also organise ad-hoc additional training sessions, mainly at the weekends and If you are looking for training partners, just ask at trainning or leave a message on the PTC forum.

There are very regular running races, normally on Sunday mornings but also in the evenings in summer. Just ask other members what they are up to, listen for announcements at training or look at the race calendar or the Forum.
