Ian & Richard’s Return to Running Race Report

You’d think that waiting this long for a race report it would be either very long or very funny, at least, but no it’s neither!  I’m just very rubbish. 

Anyway, 7 club members turned out Sunday morning for this usually gruelling Dambusters race. Conditions were very good, albeit slightly on the warm side, at least that meant you didn’t need a canoe to get round.  We had to run clockwise around the dam, this is the second time I’ve run this way around, and if I had the choice it would be the only way I’d run it!  In fact Sunday morning I intended on swimming first thing, then cycle, watch, then cycle home.   But my day wouldn’t be complete without some faffing to annoy the pants of Alex and Dave! 

So without further a faff I’ll tell you how we got on!

Dave performed well as usual (come on team Ireland), Alex and Ellie couldn’t decide who would beat who so came in together, after much mud flinging and overtaking of each other.  And my fellow gammy leg man Richard followed not far behind with a very reasonable time.  On hearing Terry’s words of encouragement, but mainly his footsteps behind me, I finished only 8 secs ahead of him.  And Val got the loudest cheer crossing the line.
