Llanelli 10k - 25th June 2006

Just a quick report to say that four club members tackled the Llanelli 10k in hot and humid conditions on Sunday 25th June. A large race, with 641 finishers, and an excellent course that runs along the Millennium Coastal Park - on a good day a potential PB course with just two small climbs (each tackled twice) as you climb up and over the railway line.

I set myself a target of just dipping under 36 minutes, and only just failed with a time of 36:14. Lee had hoped for a sub 38 minute run but, like myself, struggled a bit in the heat with 39:06. Next in was Darren who seemed to suffer the most in 41:28, and finally Adrian Haworth came home in the top 100 in a time of 44:24.

A recommended race and it was nice that one of the race organisers, and good friend of mine, Noelwyn Daniel found time to plug the Dale Half Marathon & 10k over the tannoy - I even had two people stop me to read the back of my 2004 Dale t-shirt before the race!
